Summary
Feng Xin always longed for something so out of reach. It is love and a home, not just a house. He craved comfort and gentleness, something never before seen in the rich confines of their estate.
He sang alone, playing with his toys under the blossoming wisteria tree in their house. The branches swayed against the cold afternoon breeze, raining petals over his hunched self.
Suddenly, he heard a crash. He dropped his toys to the ground, dirt enveloping the white fabric of his dolls just as quick as his hands covered his small ears while he crept under the tree's bark.
"Oh no," Feng Xin whimpered as he prepared for an even louder outburst. "They're fighting again."
