Broadchurch x Dept Q crossover AU set after season 1 of Broadchurch. Carl Morck and Akrim Salim, fresh off solving the disappearance of Merritt Lingard, find themselves another case. They head down south to England to take on Sandbrook. Alec Hardy is still in Broadchurch, living in the blue hut where we find him in canon at the start of season 2, teaching new police recruits at the academy and trying to hang on until he can get his pacemaker. He's going to get some help with the case that put him in this position, but not only from Miller this time.

As far as I am aware, you could probably read this without actually ever watching Broadchurch as it is close third person POV and for anything not covered here, that is just put down to Ryan's lack of an omniscient view of the overall case(s) within the show. But don't hold me to that!

“And I changed my last name from ‘Hill’ when I moved here with my nephew so if you want to do a background check on me, ‘Kenway’ isn’t the name you should use”.
Her voice was no less nervous but the honesty on her face caused Ellie to relax, not really suspecting the cafe owner the young woman was way too soft, the reveal of her assault charge shocked her however.
“Would you be willing to tell us more about your charge?”
Alec Hardy watched the woman shift uncomfortably, nodding her agreement while she fiddled with the signet ring on her index finger.
