It was like their every move had been watched and mapped out. They were the prey of a predator who was always one step ahead.

Eddy checked the clock, Brett was still out to get some last minute Christmas gifts and here Eddy thought he was the late one. This year Brett had been apparently late on shopping, which was odd if Eddy thought too much on it. Usually Brett was pretty on top of things, never letting anything slip under his nose. Brett was task oriented and got things done in a timely manner seeing as he was a workaholic.

Eddy has no choice but to bring this embarrassing story to Davie. The tall Italian seemed to know exactly what he needed to do to help Eddy, because after all, all Eddy lacked was a little skill.

“是的。我确实清楚，我现在清楚了。”Eddy说，握住了Brett的手。Brett想起一个夏天，他们躺在海滩上，肩并肩地躺在一起。那是很多年前一个大学的暑假，Brett开车，带Eddy一起去Wellington Point，在布里斯班附近的海边。Eddy向Brett的方向伸出手，Brett边说着“好晒好晒”，一边将手放在他自己的眼睛上。他们的手在细软的沙子上没有相遇。
“我希望我们可以再去一次海边。”Brett说，尽量让自己的语气不要崩溃，奇怪的是，全部说出来的时候，他却感到无比的轻松。对海的记忆像是海水一般从他的体内流去了。
