Summary
For centuries, Heaven began with an event that forever altered the flow of life and death on Earth: the Zhi Jinghua. Every year, on the specific day of the Zhi Jinghua, all living beings—humans and yaoguais—deemed "impure" would perish and cease to exist, supposedly to bring balance to the realms. However, the Zhi Jinghua has brought more misfortune than blessings, and there has been one being who declared war on Heaven for creating such a nefarious and catastrophic event.
This is where Nezha and Erlang Shen come in—monster hunters and the Heavenly Court’s finest line of defense. Sent to assassinate the demon wreaking havoc on Earth—slaying gods and earthly deities, and undermining the Court’s control over the lower realm—they are met with the shocking revelation that this bloodthirsty demon is none other than a monkey wielding a staff and clad in golden armor.
But from the very moment Erlang looked into his eyes, on the verge of taking his life… his hands trembled, and his spear deliberately missed the mark. -

Summary
If you asked Wukong, he'd blame Macaque.
If you asked Macaque, he'd blame Wukong.
In truth, the blame lies within both, something deep and primal that they have forgotten lies in wait for the moment it could rear its head, something that invades the mind and releases the chains holding down long-hidden feelings. One thought he was rid of it, the other thought he could control it, yet neither could have expected that nature would prevail.
It is the season for it after all.

Summary
Wukong ran cold now.
Macaque pressed his fingers into his fur, untangling the knots, clearing out the dried blood and messy fur from days spent in battle and armor. Wukong lay near motionless in his lap, laying across it like a dog, eyes watching each movement. They shone blue gold in the dim lighting of Wukong’s home, specks of gold seeping through the blue of corruption, but though that spoke of hope, there was nothing of Wukong left in that gaze.
Just a puppet without a puppeteer, strings cut, a body with a lost soul staring up at Macaque— leaning into his hands which managed to be warmer despite everything. Cold seeking warmth, ice aching to melt itself.

Summary
The younger Macaque scowls.
"Don't be so rough," past Macaque— Liu'er?— tells his older self, looking like he wants to reach forward and pull Wukong into his own grasp.
Wukong’s Macaque—Mihou?— smirks down at his younger self, voice smug, "oh? But he likes it rough."
Wukong feels his face grow warm, heat rushing to the top of his ears. His voice comes out somewhat strangled, "I don't."
Liu'er gives him a look of disappointment, though Wukong spots the tell-tale glint of interest in his eyes.
…Regardless of age, Macaque had always been a little shit.

“Pspspsps… wakey wakey, Monkey King!”
Wukong huffed a bit at the noise, slowly trying to open his eyes. He quickly gave up, shutting them tightly against the light. Gods, his head was fucking killing him… His knees were really sore… he could feel the fabric of his pants trying to dig into his knees. Trying to bring a hand up to rub his temples, he found his wrists to be tied behind his back. What? Where was he– What was happening??
“Oh, Wuuuuuukoongggg~ I see you waking up. Come on. I believe in you.” That voice came again. Wukong felt his shock turn into irritation as he recognized the voice. He decided to try opening his eyes again. The light didn’t seem to be as bright as he’d first thought. He was interrupted, though, when he felt a strong hit against his shoulder, making him lose his balance and tip over unceremoniously. The fall had him hitting his head on the ground and he drew in a sharp breath of pain as his head throbbed, headache intensifying. A shadow fell over his face as he heard lazy footsteps approaching him.

The tentacles shift and so does Wukong’s mind, conjuring images that make the lump in his throat grow.

Wukong smells his own blood in the air from the bite, the metallic smell stings his nose, covers up the smell of death. He huffs and hooks a finger in Macaque’s mouth, tugging his teeth away from his ear. "And you're biting. As always."

Macaque stood his ground in the middle of the deck. He just finished their stupid test of strength to prove his worth to the morons that run this ship. But one of them sneered at him, their face contorted into a disgusting flair of mocking smile while they circled Macaque like some big shot, despite Macaque knowing for sure that Azure- the big lion guy with blond hair and pink-ish eyes is their captain.
“Six Eared Macaque, did you lose your sanity the moment you lost everything?” The bird demon holding their laugh, their crewmates were silent but Macaque could tell from the faces surrounding him that it would be fruitless endeavour trying to warn some idiots something that could cost them their lives crossing the sea.
Sun Wukong, the asshole that killed and drowned everything he ever owned to the deepest sea, took the opportunity to act all innocent as the Captain shield him from Macaque’s piercing gaze.

Macaque reaches out, hand brushing Wukong’s, takes the peach, bites into its soft flesh, pretends, for a moment, that instead of a bite it's lighter, a kiss pressed to sunkissed fur. He imagines for a moment, phantom giggles echoing in his ears. The ghost of a future memory or just imagination.
There's only a bitten peach in his hands. He presses the peach back against Wukong's own mouth, his friend, his hero, his sun, his king, eagerly taking back, taking a bite from it, mouth pressed over the gap Macaque left behind.
Peach juice falls from the edge of his lips as Wukong pulls back, chewing, eyes bright, tail waving happily, "yum."

"Take a pancake and get out," he repeats. Then, because Macaque would heal anyway, Wukong flips the steaming pancake onto his face.
The string of hisses and curses is music to Wukong’s ears. He laughs, mirth bursting from him, eyes swimming for a moment, he has to turn off the stove or he'll burn the rest of the pancakes, but he's laughing and can't stop, watching Macaque fumble with the pancake on his face.
Then he gets a rough kiss for it, pinned back against the stove, his hand landing against the hot stovetop, burning, though he ignores it, smirking because Macaque’s face smells like pancake and it's tinted pink from the heat.
