You’re a mob boss who doesn’t traffic in people or drugs, with a handful of lieutenants who are all almost as beautiful and terrifying as you are. And for some reason you saved me in Vegas and you’re helping me now. That’s about all I know.”
The bitterness in the last sentence is palpable, and now Steve is tense in Bucky’s arms.

Steve feels a surge of anger pulse through him. Again he starts to try to sit up, but the pain returns, worse this time, and defeats him. Lying back on the soft pillows, he groans, his breath coming in ragged gasps.
“Take it easy, Steve,” Gorgeous Stranger says gently.
He lifts one finger to his ear and speaks again, apparently to someone else. “Send in the doc,” he commands in an entirely different tone. The voice is silky but shot through with authority and it makes some heretofore unknown part of Steve sit up, prick its ears and wag its tail, like a puppy when it catches wind of something interesting happening.

This Someone is tall and big — maybe as big as Steve — and clothed discreetly though expensively in the latest Prada. His long hair flows to his shoulders and his big blue-grey eyes bore intently into Steve’s face. When he sees Steve looking at him, his beautiful, full lips curl up in the merest semblance of a smile, and little crinkles appear in the corner of his eyes.
