Summary
He wished he could tell her that she was right, that the rest of their family was wrong about both of them. Magic was real, and so was the soul.
He could feel it, because he felt like part of his own soul had stopped belonging to him the second he met Vikram.
And for a moment that felt like an eternity, that part of his soul had died. It felt like his heart had been ripped out of his chest, like he was the one who had been stabbed. It was only his faith in the unknown, a faith that his Aunt had sparked and Vikram had finally validated, that kept him from losing his mind.

The night after the incident with the Devil & the Forza deck, Connor can't sleep. The trauma of watching someone he cares about die in front of him, even temporarily, catches up to him eventually. There's only one person that can calm him down from the worst panic attack he's had since his aunt died.
