The glaive looked at her briefly, and Luna waited until she spoke up.
“Lady Lunafreya,” she started, looking unsure whether to continue or not, but she didn’t take long to regain her confidence and continued, “I hope you don’t mind me accompanying you today?”
Looking into her brown eyes almost made her forget the world around her. Where she was or what she was doing seemed so irrelevant suddenly. It caught her by surprise, and she almost choked on the gasp that was threatening to escape her lips.
Luna made sure to smile, trying to hide her near slip-up behind her usual façade, and hoped the smile would look creepy, but so that she looked like she was genuinely happy if the glaive raised her eyes again. Undoubtedly, personality was the most important trait in a person, but something drew Luna to the woman in front of her.

“Does this mean anything to you?” Crowe asks. She opens the lid and the gems inlaid into the comb reflect back the thin light that reaches this far.
Lunafreya shakes her head.
“It’s not sentimental? Didn’t belong to your mother or anything?” Crowe checks.
Lunafreya shakes her head again, jaw tense as she confirms, “I’ve never seen that once before today.”
Crowe tosses the comb onto the ground. It bounces once, might have bounced a second time had Crowe not raised her foot and smashed her heel down onto the jewels with everything she had. Lunafreya doesn’t even flinch.Alternatively: Crowe's not going to let herself be assassinated, that's ridiculous. She has a princess to save.

Summary
Prompto has suffered through emotional and physical abuse at the hands of his biological father and adoptive parents, the Argentums, until Cor Leonis takes him in and formally adopts him. Finally in a safe space, Prompto can start to recover from the years of abuse, but one of the lasting effects is selective mutism, rendering him unable to speak in anxiety-invoking situations. Encouraged by the king of Lucis, Regis, Cor decides that it's time to send Prompto to the private school in Insomnia to learn how to interact with others his age.
Meanwhile, Noctis is the prince of Lucis, thoroughly spoiled after an accident that left him scarred, both physically and emotionally. Like Prompto he is selectively mute, although he is further along in his recovery than Prompto is. His father doesn't mind that his son is pansexual, especially when Noctis reveals that he is dating prince Ravus of Tenebrae. However, Noctis quickly realizes that he is in over his head and may need help to get out before he ends up more wounded than before.
