"Harding was a newspaper man. All he wanted to do was write and help. And all of a sudden he's elected Lieutenant Governor of Ohio, then a junior senator – and from there, President."

Molly grinned. "You didn't summon us, either. Our box jarred open. We saw a need, and acted to aid. We are only malicious to those who use us for selfish purposes. You and your brother? Didn't even know we were free. You didn't ask for us to help. Once you are no longer in need of us, we will--"
"—return to your box."
Molly frowned. "What?"
"Once this is over, if I understand your nature correctly, you will need to grant a boon. That is the boon we seek. Return to your box."
Molly hissed as her form glowed for a second. "Tricky boy."

It might be in the middle of a creepy swamp and right down the road from an old graveyard, but Castiel can handle that. And then, a few days before Halloween, Castiel sees a frightening green creature standing in front of the graveyard, and he finds out just how easily he can spook.

Angels discovery early, very early. Two related, One of the glyphs Azazel used was to protect (hide?) Dean from Angels. 'Messengers of light' as Bobby found
The other is protection from Demons. Can still physically harm, but not 'magic' powers wise as the glyphs matured. "it protects you against demons to some degree, and I think it prevented him from finding you again"Dean escaping when he did quite literally saved him from being a slave. The most recent.. adaptation, in order to combat the glyph protecting Dean from him as well, Azazel was using a different sigil meant to create a link between the two. By escaping, and later on ripping his stitches open, the sigil was damaged and no link exists

I'm assuming what's Dean revealing is also Canon for Dark Angel, tho I'm unfamiliar with it. Either way there's probably small changes with him being instead of Alec, same way Alec changed things slightly in SPN Canon
The demons in Dark Angel are different (Colt still exists as well as methods, but probably small changes). It was easy to knock out the demons (he's uncertain if it's because of Alec's strength) and when splashing them with holy water, it actually damages their vessels
Different mythology as wellThe small changes lead to big changes, at least in SPN. I wonder if that's the same in Dark Angel, not familiar with it enough to know for sure, although I obviously like these two fandoms as a crossover
In Dark Angel Dean stops the ritual thing, which I assume didn't happen in Canon?
While in SPN, Alec manages to trap Azazel so they can send him back to Hell-

Sometimes a rebel teenager, sometimes a very scared child. A curse —or wish?— that is going to give Sam a lesson about the feelings of his brother, while they try to solve a pretty strange case. Because —as Pink Floyd said— the echoes also resonates in the present. Set in season 1.
