“Be careful what you ask for.” The tone is chiding, almost a gentle reprimand and something is changing, like the air around them is shifting and the demon behind those eyes is smiling at him dangerously. He’s looking into the abyss and he is falling. He doesn’t mind. “You”, he repeats, slowly, deliberately this time because that’s what Dazai wants to hear and Akutagawa will gladly accept everything it implies.
After the fight with Fitzgerald, Akutagawa finds a simple message in the pocket of his coat.
