Summary
The Collector was defeated. Belos was gone. The Isles were saved.
But where does that leave him then? Where was Hunter supposed to go, now that his friends were all reunited with their families and his former place of living gone?
He felt someone grab and ruffle his hair and when he turned around, his eyes widened when he saw Darius, when Eberwolf hopped into view.
Eberwolf had insisted two weeks later that they keep a photo album. To have pictures so they could look back at all the adventures they've had together.
He didn't get it when Darius eagerly agreed.
Now, nearly an entire year later, he does.

The man glanced down at his sleeping form and he looked small, vulnerable, and trusting Darius to hold him gently after years of getting none of that from Belos. Trusting that the hands currently cradling the back of his head would never force it down, never grip his hair hard enough that it hurts. That a hug would not end up in bruises and reprimands about how weak and childish he was. Hunter trusted him and it was a gift like no other.

"Hunter smiles widely and pretends very hard he’s not trying his damn hardest not to jump in joy. Darius doesn’t point it out, not even to tell him that he doesn’t mind.
He’s not sure how exactly to say that without bringing unwanted attention to it that’ll make Hunter shut off again and keep as still and stiff as a toy soldier, like he did the first few times they had sewing lessons together. So he doesn’t say anything, hoping that eventually the kid will realize on his own that he can simply be himself when no one else is around."
Or: Five times Darius realizes Hunter feels safe with him and one time he doesn't.

And so he hissed and growled and watched idly as the other Coven Heads ignored the child’s requests and shoved him aside, staying content as long as he was at enough of a distance for Darius to not start acting strange.
And then everything had changed.
Perhaps he should have known that would come to bite him in the ass later.

He takes a hasty turn on the corner of the next street, as he always does, ready to welcome the sight of the vines that decorate the outside wall of one of the houses and that he uses as one of the small marks that he’s going the right way and he stops on his tracks.

After his unnexpected and intense reaction to Hunter being in danger in "Hollow Mind", Raine and Eberwolf confront Darius about his budding parental feelings towards the boy.
And it all comes to its boiling point when the three of them have to tell Hunter that his uncle branded him to die with the rest.

Darius Deamonne had always been to him a shining beacon of autonomy and style at the castle, and for a few months outside of it, the same thing was true.
But that too changed.
Around the 6th time the fashionable witch had appeared at his shop, there had been an unusual change on his attire that had let him frozen in surprise and caused Deamonne to raise an eyebrow at him until he recovered and quickly stumbled in his haste to retrieve what he was asked for. It wasn’t anything big even, just a small patch with what seemed to be a cartoonish version of a direwolf on it, lacking the double set of fangs and extra pair of horns, that nevertheless stuck out like a sore thumb because of how visible the stitches were and how out of tune it was from the style of the rest of the outfit, particularly the pants it was currently adorning.

Summary
Dadrius Week Day 1: Father's Day
With Father's Day coming, Hunter's anxiety about the whole thing spikes up and he asks his friends for ideas. Shenanigans ensue.

Hunter could not see himself going to the man and asking him directly how he felt so a gift for Father’s Day should do the trick.
‘Hey, I know it’s been a couple of months and you are probably just taking care of me till I turn 18 but I think of you as my father, so no pressure, here’s a cake!’
His face flushed in embarrassment and he buried his face in his hands. This would be mortifying, he would not be able to handle Darius looking at him weirdly or worse, telling him straight up that he was being too presumptuous. Nothing ever went right for Hunter and if it did? It inevitably crashed and burned at one point.
