Summary
Buck is back at the 118, and Eddie's healed from the sniper, but that doesn't mean everything's rainbows and unicorns. He knows there's something wrong with Maddie, no matter how many times she and Chimney say everything's fine. He knows there's something wrong with Eddie, even if his boyfriend insists otherwise. At least everything seems to be okay with Daniel, this time.

Summary
Bobby had asked him about his shield ceremony, a few days ago.
He hasn't heard from Maddie since he left. Abby is gone. His old roommates probably lost his number the day after he moved out. His parents… maybe they’d come.
They don't even know he's a firefighter, now, not unless Maddie told them, if she ever got his latest postcard.
If they do know, he has to wonder why they haven't called yet to tell him it's a bad idea. Maybe they understand him, for once in their lives.
He was born to save someone. His body betrayed him, then.
This time, he gets to choose to die trying if he can't.Or;
Daniel lives long enough for Buck to remember him, too. He does not, however, live long enough for Buck to save him.Series

Summary
Buck tried to use what little strength he could muster to call down to Eddie, to make himself known, but the only sound he was able to come up with was a pathetic choked out sob. He hated this. This situation he found himself in, sad and broken with Eddie on his doorstep. He didn’t want to make him worry, he didn’t want to take up more of his time being a burden.
– Or Buck receives a text message he’s hoping he'd never receive, and he deals with that the only way he ever has, by avoiding it.

Summary
Hen had seen many people come and go throughout her years at the 118. The faces that greeted her upon her arrival had been the worst of all of them (excluding Chimney, of course). A team full of straight white men who didn’t see a place for her to fit among them. It’s better now that Bobby is captain. He hasn’t been here long, roughly 14 months or so, but in that time he’s reshaped what it means to be a member of the 118.
The newest member, Daniel Buckley, was a shroud of mystery. All they knew was what Bobby had told him, that he lived in Pennsylvania and that he has been a firefighter for many years.
Will he ever open up to his new team? Will they get to meet the reason for him leaving his hometown? Will the Buckley's find the family they've been hoping for their entire lives?

Summary
The new probie is a mystery wrapped up in a contradiction wrapped in another mystery. Friendly and overbearing yet completely reserved. Trying to figure him out is like getting stuck in a revolving door that never slows down enough to let you get through the opening. And so far, he’s garnered them a net zero on profits two weeks in. The money box and accompanying notebook sat untouched in Hen’s locker.
In which Buck comes to the 118 with a more complicated history, one he is determined to hide. They still somehow become a family.

Summary
The sun was hidden behind the clouds, but that didn’t stop Evan. He ran out to the garage and pulled out Danny’s old bike to try and ride it. His parents were at work, Maddie was inside doing homework, and Danny was…well, he couldn’t remember where Danny was, he was pretty sure he was playing a video game. He had told Maddie and Daniel that he was gonna ride a bike, and they said he could, as long as one of them could see him from their spot in the house. Evan thought that was pretty fair, so here he was. He got onto the bike and tried to ride it, key word try. Dannys old bike didn’t have training wheels, which was hard, but he had to learn so he could ride his bike with Maddie and Danny! So he kept trying.

Summary
“Daniel?” Buck chokes out, and Daniel turns to him, three sizes smaller than him, wearing green cargo shorts with cartoon elephant patches on them.
”Hey, Buck,” Daniel greets, voice so young and looking at him with Margaret’s eyes. Blue as the ocean sky and a smattering of freckles only on his nose, the slope soft from youth and red the way Chris’ always is. Because that's how kids are — features soft and red and pudgy. He’s amused when he adds: “Probably didn't think you’d see me?”
(Or, instead of Buck dreaming about what-ifs about Daniel, he gets to talk about Daniel with Daniel. Well, actually his unconscious taking on the form of Daniel — but that’s mostly irrelevant.)

Summary
When nine-year-old Evan Buckley crawls through flames to save his infant brother, he expects his parents’ gratitude—not to be abandoned to foster care as a liability. Labeled “too much” by the family he risked his life to protect, Evan grows up chasing the ghost of the sibling he barely saved, his childhood reduced to a cycle of group homes and the relentless fear that fire might steal everything again. But Los Angeles’ Firehouse 118 doesn’t see a hazard in the bright-eyed probie everyone calls Buck. To Bobby Nash, he’s a son worth mentoring. To Athena Grant, a survivor worth protecting. To Eddie Diaz, a partner worth trusting—even with his own son’s heart.
As Buck rebuilds his life alongside the firefam he’s chosen, buried embers reignite when his biological brother, Daniel, uncovers the truth about their shared past. Torn between the family that cast him out and the one that refuses to let go, Buck must confront the scars he’s carried since childhood—and decide whether forgiveness can coexist with the unshakable bond he’s forged with the 118. Sometimes, the people who light our way home aren’t the ones who share our blood… but the ones who brave the fire with us.
