Summary
Newt was a man of mysteries to many, a soldier to some, a monster to others and the most powerful wizard this side of the pacific. Of course nobody is aware of that fact outside of world leaders, most who didn't believe the danger the magizoologist may pose. Other than his magnet for danger and his ability to get out of said trouble, he travelled freely with his case. To understand this however we must go back to where it all started- 1914 with a boy not much older than himself with curled brown hair, pale skin and a potion mastery.
This is a story of grief and coming to terms with it, a story of love and heartbreak, manipulation and fear, and of course two of the First Division Dragon Riders. -

Newt Scamander, wizarding society’s most renowned Magizoologist has finally left his quiet and ordered life in his estate in Great Britain, to travel all the way to America. Muggle America to be precise. His reasons for doing this while probably numerous, all have the underlying theme of answering magizoology’s greatest question of the day.
That is – Muggles? Man or Beast?
If this had been a thousand or so years ago the question would have been simple. Even Pureblood nuts like Salazar Slytherin had never doubted that Muggles were human. Perhaps a lesser kid of human, but men none the less. But now…well, it was the wings really, they complicated everything.
Or a Wing AU in which it is Muggles, and not Wizards, who have wings.

"You’ll forgive me if I find that hard to believe," Newt says rather bluntly, looking Gellert definitely in the eye. The alcohol in his system making him far less timid in the moment.
"Now, Newt. Don't be rude," Char says, barely above a whisper into his ear. Arm slipping lower to settle around his waist. The action makes Newt blush scarlet and stutter out a hushed apology to his friend.
Gellert chuckles.

It was the precursors who made them come here, on top of the highest skyscraper, so they would be on the front row to witness the extermination of humanity. But even as the city burned right before their eyes, Newton and Hermann didn’t feel anything. Their minds had been too thoroughly broken and remolded by their captors for them to care anymore. No compassion or concern for mankind remained in their hearts. All they had left was their love for each other.
Or the AU where the precursors took possession of both Newton and Hermann, used them and the strength of their bond to destroy humanity, then lost their control over them. But even if they managed to free themselves, it didn’t mean Newton and Hermann came out unscathed.

Theseus led him to the large poster bed, heavy curtains hanging. With a flutter of his hand, Theseus opened them and stepped aside for Percival to get a look.
Newton Scamander was indeed a beauty.
Percival’s gaze drank him in, taking every fine inch of him, pale creamy skin with soft freckles. Copper hair framing an exquisite face, full plush lips and long dark eyelashes. The boy, barely twenty, slept on as Percival inspected him.
“May I?” Percival asked and Theseus nodded easily.

Life has not been kind to Nymphaea Scamander.
In a world where Newt was born a girl she is an outcast not only due to her love (obsession) of magical creatures, but also because she refuses to conform to Britains (backwards) views of how a women should act and her station.
Life has hardened Nymphaea in unexpected ways and she learned early on to wear a mask and act like all is fine. Not even her beloved big brother noticed the cracks, or perhaps he just didn't c- STOP!
Offered the opertunity to follow her dreams and write a book on her beloved creatures by a friend she met during the war, Nyphaea grabs the opportunity with both hands and flees England without a backward glance, save to bid her favourite teacher fair well.
The only problem is that she's caught someones notice and she cant seem to shake it. Flying under the radar for so long seems to have just made her even more intriging to the crazy Bastard.
