After being forced to choose between a dangerous new enemy, and the man who's been plaguing Berk for the last five years, Astrid strikes a deal, and is made to return to the Dragon Master's island, finally putting her prejudice against Dragons to rest.
But despite the intrigue of his past, Astrid experiences strange visions and sights, and realise that perhaps, the island, and all of its inhabitants, aren’t what they seem.

Summary
Hiccup “Horrendous” Haddok III is widely known as very compassionate. It came at steep costs and yet he rose above it all, even the clouds.
But, as life would have it, small mishaps and coincidences can break down a story from it’s very foundation.
What if Toothless was not a sole unique attacker? If, in the war, Toothless had a master already?
A master who couldn’t be called Toothless’s master, as far as Hiccup was concerned.
A “Master” who wants nothing more to be seen as human and to function without other human’s help.
To be seen as human, this person needs Hiccup’s help, but to need Hiccup’s help, they cannot be seen as human.To make Hiccup feel the weight of his own compassion, how it can trap one’s autonomy, dragon or not, what will this “Master” do?

Complete! Sequel up! Heir to the Alpha - The Prince and the King. On FF.net as well.
Hiccup has been jeered at his whole life. Everywhere he goes destruction seems to follow. When he invents The Mangler, Hiccup shoots down the Night Fury. But upon finding the Night Fury in the woods, he could not bring himself to kill it, but instead cuts the ropes entangling the Night Fury.
The dragon itself was just as confused. What was this human doing? Surely he should know that the dragon can kill him the instant he lets him free. But just like the human, the dragon could not bring itself to kill someone who had spared his life when it was in such a vulnerable position.
Finding that the dragon had been left flightless because of it's severed left fin, Hiccup bonds with the Night Fury, gaining it's trust, whilst reluctantly battling in Dragon Training.
Everything goes wrong when Hiccup is chosen to kill the Monstrous Nightmare.
He has 1 night to gain the trust of the dragons that have been locked up in cages since he was born.
