Summary
During the Great Recession of 2008, Janet and Bonnie Anderson are forced into retirement when the year begins due to the poor economical management that causes inflation, gas prices rising, and heavy unemployment and layoffs. As Janet tries to find a suitable job to finance her and Bonnie, the two suffered a major setback when the IRS arrived at their home in Port Sands and forces the sisters to pay a hefty sum of $750,000 after their grandparents failed to pay their back taxes. If she doesn't pay by the end of the year, Janet will reduced to be a homeless woman while Bonnie will be taken into custody by the Child Services after Janet was proven to be an incapable guardian. But when none of the jobs can granted her enough money, Janet and Bonnie decided to take the biggest gamble ever: working as security guards in Starr Park HQ where Janet must monitor the entire island to ensure nobody enters and leaves. Little did the sisters know that there is a reason why the people never leave and it has something to do with the Hypercharge Epidemic of '95.

This fanfic does not incorporate Brawlstars's canon lore, but rather takes the parts I like the best, so if you are here for this, I just want to give you a heads up as you may not like my story, however...
Yes, Starrpark is evil in this story but the brawlers are not being brainwashed, most of them are under the illusion that this is normal. This series is gonna have a Gravity Falls/Ninjago-esque vibe to it with a ton of darker elements, it's gonna be a sweeeet ride!

Edgar Martin, originally from Port Sands, is kidnapped into Starr City at the mere age of three as part of a recruitment exercise by the Starr Army. He is forced to undergo education as a citizen of Starr City, and is sent to the front lines to annex his home country against his own will.
Colette Lavigne is the only daughter of an affluent Port Sander businessman. She lived a luxury life up until her father's infamous involvement in tax fraud that led to his arrest. Due to her father's disappearance, Colette now has a large bounty to her name and has to learn to fend for herself.
Upon being sent by the Starr Army to invade Port Sands at seventeen years old, Edgar is assigned his first task to hunt down and assassinate Colette.
He is sure he will succeed. Fate ensures he will not.-

What's up y'all. Sorry about this coming out quite a bit later then the introduction, I've been busy over the summer with other things. That and this story ended up being longer than I thought, but that only means more for you guys to read!
So, just to put the story simply, this one focuses on Colt and Shelly and their experiences dealing with the strange crystals that popped up randomly at Starr Park. It does follow along with what was shown on the CCTV footage, yet I personally fill in the blank spots with my own speculation, both for filling in plot holes between when they show up and for the sake of a good story! And if it isn't obvious, I HEAVILY recommend watching the CCTV footage at least once just for the sake of context. That and checking out Story #0 for some more detailed information.
