Buck remembered the hue of gold touching the blue of the water to be different. More vibrant. The color was still beautiful, even as the night sky ate the light. Much like this situation ate away at his heart. Buck sighed, eyes lulling back over to the stack of papers laying like a dividing line between them on the blanket they both sat on. He combed his hand through his hair, fingers catching a bit at the curls. "Buck?" Eddie's voice startled him from his haze, and he coughed, trying to clear the anxiety from his throat. They knew this day would come... and yet the pain of the moment was too great to ignore. Before Buck could reply, a woman collapsed between them in a heap, her hair spilling over the papers as her scream filled the darkening sky. The two men shot to their feet, eyes wide with horror, as the man who had shoved the woman down sank his teeth into her shoulder, tearing free the tendons beneath.

Buck knows three things.
1. Sex with Tommy wasn't all that good. Buck had rarely enjoyed it, and now he wonders if he's even into guys to that degree. He was sure, but he isn't so much anymore. Bisexuality is still new, and it feels right, but Buck wants to be certain.
2. Buck needs a reference. A single fling to compare and figure out if he enjoys sex with men. That's alright, he thinks. It's not like Buck has any plans on returning to his 1.0 phase, he just needs one hookup.
3. Eddie is kind of, likely, possibly (?) cockblocking him. Which... is all kinds of confusing.

When Buck and Tommy break up, Buck decides to figure out his bisexuality some more. Eddie makes it difficult, not just due to sabotage but also because Buck can't stop thinking of Salt 'n Peppa's Whatta Man whenever he looks at his best friend. And if that song also caused the breakup then that's no one's business.

His heart is thumping wildly where it's caged in behind his ribs because the best friend he just realised he's in love with is practically straddling him now, those big plush so-red lips of his pressed against the extremely sensitive skin of Eddie's neck, breathing out rhythmic sun rays like it's nothing at all and changing Eddie's brain chemistry like goddamn photosynthesis.
