Eventually, Sherlock/OC-Amelia Wilson has always had a talent for deductive reasoning. Even as a child, she was fascinated with detective work, and so it was only natural that she'd become a private detective herself. But then, during one of the worst periods of her life, Detective Inspector Lestrade of Scotland Yard offers her a chance to help him on some of his tricky cases, cases he's not comfortable trusting his other consulting detective with, and things just snowball. Unfortunately, Amelia's talent also catches the attention of one Mycroft Holmes, and despite her refusal to take up his offer two years ago to play spy, Mycroft Holmes always gets his way, in the end. 2010, a string of mysterious, not so suicides ends up resulting in Amelia finding herself meeting and becoming partners with Sherlock Holmes, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Standing by her father, John could see the resemblance. It wasn’t immediately striking, but she had the same skin tone, the same dark curls, same nose, though her face was splattered with freckles. Her right eye was the same unique shade her father had, her left a warm brown. She seemed a bit small for seven.
“Hello,” John gave her a friendly smile, “pleasure to meet you.”
Imogen looked at him a moment longer. John wasn’t sure what she was seeing (If she was anything like her father, probably a lot) but she seemed satisfied with it, giving John a smile and holding out her hand.
“Nice to meet you Mr Watson.”
After being kicked out of their last place, Sherlock moves into Baker Street with his seven year old daughter Imogen. Central London is a bit more expensive though, so they need a flatmate. Enter John Watson.

A written-out version of one of my favorite episodes :) Wrote this a while ago, but I AM aware that others have done this before. Really, this is just a screen-to-text adaptation of the first episode, through John's POV, for fun. It is completed, and even though we all know what happens next, I figured it would be fun to post a chapter a day instead of all at once. Enjoy!

Summary
John's gaze wandered skyward instinctually, where the concrete walls, metal beams and wide light panels that covered the rest of the city were interrupted by an enormous transparent dome. Not all cities had such a window to the outside. Most of the less prosperous towns all across the country, as well as all places located further underground, had to make do with artificial light, cheap weather simulations on big LED panels and VR sceneries.
But this was the real deal. Filtered through decades-old layers of dust and grime but still very clearly the actual sun. This was as good as things would get for John Watson, at least for the foreseeable future. And he would have to learn to live with that.

After the surface of the earth has grown uninhabitable, life has shifted underground. Away from sunlight and fresh air, humanity has improved on itself with the help of body modifications, growing stronger and more connected. Returning home after many years of military service on the surface John stumbles across Sherlock, who can show him a whole new side of this London below ground.
A retelling of ASiP within a futuristic & dystopian universe and the beginning of a longer series to come.
