It could have been one second or three hours before Rodney opened the door, for all that John knew. All that he knew was that after some silence the door opened and his partner was standing there. Even though they were separated by a couple feet, John still had to fight the urge to cry at the nearness of Rodney’s body. It was the closest they had been in six fucking months.
