Summary
Bobby's phone lights up signifying an incoming call. He checks the display and sees that it's from Buck.
"Buck is calling!" Bobby announces to A Shift as he answers the phone.
"Hi Buck!" everyone choruses.
"Oh, hi everyone," Buck replies, his voice wavering with emotion as it sounds like he tries to compose himself.
Bobby listens to the bustle of a busy environment and a faint announcement over a tannoy and realises this isn't a typical call.
"Hang on a moment, I'll go somewhere more private," Bobby replies as he moves away from the inquisitive faces in the firehouse.

Summary
The air in ER is almost buzzing that night—or maybe it’s the static of the overhead lights, flickering on and off every so often—since they got the call from dispatch. A grenade in some guy’s leg? Even the most veteran of doctors haven’t quite seen anything like it. So it’s not really a surprise when the trauma bay is more crowded than usual as the ambulance approaches. Only, it stops before they can unload it, coming to a dead stop in the parking lot.
The police cordon off the hospital with yellow tape. Soon after, the bomb squad arrives. Someone starts a rumour that there’s a live grenade in that ambulance. The bay clears pretty quickly after that, leaving only the adrenaline junkies, waiting with bated breath to see what happens next.
If they squint enough, they can make out two (very handsome) firefighters being fitted with kevlar vests.

OR: The hospital staff has been keeping tabs on those two firefighters who are definitely head over heels in love for the last six years.

Summary
He can’t help but feel warm all around as he hugs Buck, and it stirs a feeling inside of him— something he doesn’t yet have a name for— when Christopher gives his handmade card to his Buck.
But the happiness radiating around the party is cut off when Buck starts coughing. Eddie is mid-conversation with Karen when the sound reaches his ears. Both he and the other woman look Buck’s way, where the younger man had been talking to Bobby.
It’s just coughing and nothing about it should be catching their attention in the way it does, but then it goes on. Anxiety settles in his chest as Buck starts taking a few steps back, and the coughs turn from dry to wet, Buck’s throat thick with something.
