Summary
The teens investigate a monster, but it soon becomes clear that this assignment will be more difficult than first thought. Based on classic homebrew DnD monster the False Hydra, but with a more eldritch twist. I conceived of this fic at the very beginning of S2 when I still didn't know much about the direction the podcast would be taking, so think of this as an arc from a separate, diverging version of S2 where they stayed in San Dimas and did more episode 2 type missions

Fabian lifts his hands in a surrender. He doesn’t know why but he doesn’t want to upset this goblin. The look in his eyes, deep behind the defensive wall, is awfully pained, he notices. Fabian hates to think that he’s the cause of that pain. “Listen, handsome, I don’t know who you are. I’m sorry, maybe you have me confused with someone else,” he offers, as if the stranger hasn’t called him by his name.
“Fabian, are you, like… concussed?”
Fabian knits his eyebrows together. “I don’t—I’m not—I think I would remember your face if I knew you,” Fabian finally says, finding his words. “I don’t think we’ve met.”
