Faroe stumbled back, breathing becoming shallow and rapid. “Oh fuck! Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god!” She put a hand over her mouth. “Wh-who. . .?”
“Peter Yang. The man who owns this office.”
“A-and he's. . .?” Faroe slowly crawled forward again, feeling out the body until her fingers came to his neck. She pressed them down, feeling for a pulse, but there was none.
Tears started to form in the corners of her eyes as the weight of the situation started to settle on her shoulders.. “He's dead. . .Peter is dead.” She still couldn't remember exactly why, but this death hurt something deep in her chest. It started in the center, spreading through her heart and lungs and ribs, aching like an open wound.
“Yes. He's dead.”
