“Finally,” a woman grumbles.
Fjord pauses in his tracks. He forces his eyes open.
Sitting at the chipped and stained table in his kitchen— and it takes him a second to remember their names— are Astrid and Eadwulf.
They’re dressed in dark leathers, dotted with pockets and wearing utility belts filled with spell components. Eadwulf’s sword hangs in its scabbard, slung across the back of the chair. They’re drinking his tea.
“Given that you’re a sailor, I expected you to be awake earlier,” Astrid says, making direct eye contact. There’s an undercurrent of disappointment to her tone, like she’s rolling her eyes.
“And I thought you shaved everywhere,” Eadwulf adds. His eyes are not on Fjord’s face.
Fjord pulls Jester's tiny pink housecoat closed over his hips.
“Get dressed, we’re behind schedule already,” Astrid orders.or
Fjord is recruited for a mission. Strange times make for strange bedfellows.

Summary
“Shit, shit, shit. Shit!”
Fjord curses to himself through his teeth, pushing through the streets and away from the tavern that’s barely illuminated in the night. He quickly slips into a nearby alleyway between dark brick houses, covering himself in between them. The sky above him is just as dark, covering the city itself in an eternal night.
He doesn’t want to be an open book, something for everyone to see. He’s gone to large lengths to seal the book, even tried to throw it away on numerous accounts. To get rid of it and who he was before, before he woke up on that beach, coughing up salt water and with the falchon in his hand.
But now, it might have all been a wasted effort.

Fjord gets his powers taken away by Uk'otoa as a punishment, and then deals with lurking anxiety and the aftermath of his abandoned past in the rainy streets of Xhorhas.

Summary
Fjord's journey with learning that his name is connected to the Wildmother and his feelings about being a Stone from the conversation in the hot tub with Caduceus in Ep 91 to the next day and farther in the future after the Reunion episodes. Some speculation about perhaps a happier dream and memories. Any errors are mine as this is my first Critical Role fic.
The title comes from the Maori name for jade; greenstone/pounamu which can represent family and connections to the land. And because when I think about the most beautiful shades of green, I think of jade.

Fjord remembers all the women he has ever loved and the very few who have ever loved him back and realizes that maybe the reason he has never been in a real relationship is that he's been too busy hating himself to notice the people who really loved him. He wasn't lying when he told the Mighty Nein that he wasn't a sexual person. And as Vandren always said- there's plenty of fish in the sea.
(AKA all the times Fjord found himself at the mercy of a woman he fancied and all the times it had backfired. And the times it should have, but didn't)

Fjord’s visits with Gairdneri have always been private– leaving Fjord to be at the dragon’s mercy and appetite. While Fjord can’t complain, it dawns on him that there won’t be time for that until after the party. Which means there are several hours in between in which the dragon will not be able to have his way with Fjord.
That brings Fjord to a very important question: how much teasing can one dragon take?
