Grindewald fell in 1950: the five years in which he still held sway changed the course of history. Wizarding Britain, terrified at threats to the Statute of Secrecy, decided in the late 50s to pass the Muggleborn Wizarding Appropriation Act, which took muggleborn children from their parents at the first incidence of accidental magic. Children could be fostered or adopted by wizarding families, or would live in Wizarding Institutional Houses. Some Pureblood families took things a step further and decided to foster children in case they only had one heir to act as a sibling, companion, and stand-in for punishments deemed too harsh for their own children. If the muggleborn did well, they reasoned, it meant they had earned their place in the wizarding world.
Hermione Granger is such a child, chosen at a young age to be Draco Malfoy's companion. She's an ideal muggleborn: polite, intelligent, and capable. It's not until she attends Hogwarts that someone sees her potential. She becomes the favorite of a certain professor, who sees her power for what it is.
Meanwhile, Lucius Malfoy is embroiled in Wizarding politics, influenced by his sister-in-law's mad manipulations.

it's fine, tommy tries to convince himself. he doesn't have control over tubbo's actions and feelings, if he wants to marry someone then go ahead. even if that someone was the super untrustworthy ender boy that tommy actually liked and confided his trauma in during exile. it's fine, it's not like he was beaten up to death, got stuck in the afterlife, and got revived again. it's not like he feels lonelier than ever and he can't help still feeling dead and empty.
thing is, tubbo and ranboo do care. a little bit too much, actually. they're plotting something that's supposed to involve legal documents, but instead, they've swapped out the adoption papers with ropes and a whole lot more insanity than an adoption process is supposed to have.

Ch 2 “I may have a solution to that issue. There is another man I’m good friends with who would be willing to take Tubbo under his wing for as long as it takes you two to get on your feet again.” Wilbur hesitates. “He’s about the best protection you can get in a place like this.”
“But – but Tubbo…” Tommy’s eyes flit to his friend. “We can’t be separated like this! We promised to be together forever!”
Ch 6 Tommy supposes this isn’t all that surprising, considering how few covens preside in the London area and how much power a coven must possess to take over such a bustling city. Luxury is inherently part of the gig.
Was this the right thing to do?”
Phil hums and buries his chin in Tommy’s mop of hair. “No, I think he’ll come around. They always do.”
Ch 9 We did what we did to make you better, Theseus,” Techno pipes up from the doorway, an alluring tilt to his voice. “You may not see it now, but you will in time - regardless of how many years it takes. At the present, however, you have two choices; you can either sulk in bed like the petulant child you are, or you can embrace your new status and enjoy the beginnings of your long, and hopefully prosperous, eternity.”
He shrugs, blatantly ignoring the bewildered look Tommy shoots towards him.
“Your choice, Theseus,” he echoes and falls silent.
Tommy’s heart sinks. Technoblade is right, in a strange way. Tommy’s been granted the curse of immortality, and it’s likely the ease in which he exists now won’t persist long into the future. One day, he’s bound to be as old and stuffy as the other vampires. Why not spend a little time enjoying his youth while it lasts?
Phil, Dadza, please. You’re embarrassing him.”
He pauses his story and glances back to Techno. The vampire’s face is buried in the fur lining his cloak, posture slumped – embarrassed. Tommy bites his lip to suppress another surprised laugh.
Phil finally expresses an ounce of regret and moves to offer Technoblade another comforting shoulder pat.
“Sorry, mate.”
Techno only shakes his head.
It’s so easy, their dynamic, Tommy notes with surprise. There’s a sense of mutual respect between the vampires, and such a deep love and understanding that it feels like they’re a genuine family.
What the fuck? This contradicts everything Tommy thought he knew about vampires.

DreamXD looked away from them, wishing he didn’t have to show them the things their other counterparts did. “Wilbur went insane and told you to kill him, you didn’t want to, but you thought it was the only thing to do.” Philza teared up andI have to show you the last one...be prepared please...I can tell you that this is the biggest relationship change...Tommy and Wilbur were close until some things and now they have the worst relationship out of all of them. Hopefully, you all will be able to gain Tommy’s trust but I can tell you...Wilbur will be the last one, he trusts even if he acts like he does.
