Summary
"Who is he?" she asked him, her tone accusatory as she didn't even bother to let G'raha explain himself.
And Foulques only laughed tiredly at the question… leaving G'raha wondering how he would answer.
Foulques had never been the first to jump to explain what their relationship was, leaving Celestaux with his kind eyes and easy smile to do the talking or letting G'raha ramble through an explanation that usually left people more confused… But now he had to put it to words, had to explain something to this woman since G'raha's words were clearly no good here.
"He's…" Foulques started, letting out a breath and slowly turning his head to look at G'raha.

Summary
The old Gelmorran final rights prayers played in his mind as he awaited his death – at least he had the time to beg the gods for forgiveness, to beg to end up among his ancestors. And gods, did he need to beg after everything he'd done wrong. He didn't want to die, he didn't want his time to be cut short, not when he still had so much he wanted to do.
But his spiraling train of thought was interrupted as a hand reached into his vision, forcing him to look up to the cliff’s ledge to see him, the same damned man that had bested him.

Summary
Cel stayed quiet a moment, only shifting slightly to pull the jacket tighter around him as a gust of wind blew the cool night air through the forest. "It's been moons since I've seen the stars," he just said, still not taking his eyes off the sky.
Foulques sighed, letting all of the tension out of his body and he just looked up at the sky. There was nothing spectacular about that particular night, no shooting stars or some astrological event to his knowledge, it was simply clear enough to see the stars through the canopy of the Twelveswood. The first time he'd really looked up at them since Cel came back from the edge of them, broken and bloodied and barely breathing.

Summary
He'd barely understood what was happening when the Ragnarok landed and most of the Scions had started ushering people away from the docks and up towards the Agora, but the poorly disguised concern on their faces was enough for him to know that something was wrong. That and the blood still staining Thancred's gloves.
Foulques had pushed through the crowds of cheering and celebrating people, refusing to follow the flow up away from the docks, and that's when he saw Cel's near lifeless body being carried off the ship in Estinien's arms and he felt the world fall out beneath him.
If Estinien hadn't seen him immediately and said simply alive, Foulques likely would've burned all of Sharlayan to the ground, to hells with the Final Days being averted. They would've had a new enemy to deal with, the Star would've had him to contend with — and he'd have started with the Scions.

Summary
Peeking his head out of the tent flap, his blood turned to ice as he saw a figure slowly approaching, a lance strapped strapped across their back. For a moment, he thought it could've been Ser Estinien, but the approaching figure didn't carry themself the same. A quick glance around their camp had him seeing the Warrior of Light still up, sitting beside their dying campfire and looking up at the stars. Just as he opened his mouth to say something, to warn his friend about the approaching man, he watched as Celestaux turned his head to look right at the figure.
He was too far away to make out much, but Celestaux's genuine smile had ways of brightening any space – even in the darkness of night. Squinting further at the stranger, Alphinaud caught a glimpse of recognition and let out a deep breath.
It was that lancer Celestaux seemed acquainted with – Foulques, he thought he remembered the warrior calling him that first night in Camp Dragonhead.

Summary
“If it’s a member of the Brass Blades or the Crystal Braves, you can tell them–” Haurchefant started but Celestaux could see the knight quickly shaking his head.
“Neither, Ser. At least, not that I can tell. I don’t believe he’s affiliated with any of the Grand Companies, he’s just… some duskwight lancer? No one was able to get a name out of him, he’s just been making threats of what he’ll do if he doesn’t–”
“Foulques is here?” Celestaux asked, cutting off the knight and slowly getting to his feet.

Summary
It's endlessly frustrating to Foulques that his rival/student, who he is not friends with, keeps picking up new stupid hobbies that are not becoming a better lancer. Almost as if he doesn't take the fact that Foulques is his rival seriously.

it's said they grow in places of great loss
so look for me in red-dyed fields, year-round
'neath the wild orchards, where three paths do cross
oh love, won't you bury
bury me six feet down
oh love, it's not forever
if you don't
bury me six feet down

Summary
“You were cute,” she concludes, turning back to face him, face straight as she can manage it even as the makings of a grin tug at her lips.
Foulques’s ears twitch, and Alliene doesn’t miss the way a hint of a flush dusts his dark cheeks. “Excuse me?”
“You were all ‘true courage this,’ ‘true lancer that’,” she elaborates, waving her hands for effect as she fights to keep the laughter out of her voice. “You were so very adamant about it all. It was cute. I wanted to hug you.”
