Just as he was comparing the different materials the royal mermaid carriages were built from to the firm wood of this human ship, two pairs of footsteps appeared right into the siblings’ view. Robin smiled in excitement, whereas Sunday lowered his head a little, but not enough to shield his shamefully curious eyes.
Sunday carefully ran his eyes from the figures’ matching black boots (ugly compared to their stunning tails) up to their torsos (covered by ragged and messy clothing, something that made Sunday’s skin crawl as if millions of little crabs were walking right on him), and finally, their faces.
A hardened face met him, flawed and hurt by scars of old, yet the lines on his face betrayed a relaxed personality. He had a mess of brown hair, shorter frames on his face, yet longer strands at the back of his neck, but as the tufts swayed in the salty wind, Sunday couldn’t help but think his hair looked quite soft…
And then it hit him as hard as being hit in the chest by an incoming, raging shark.
Brown and fluffy…
‘Is this the dog Robin talked about?’ Sunday’s train of thought came to that solid conclusion.

While the idea of leading Penacony and being in such a high position of power makes Sunday quite anxious, he knows that he is lucky to have the honor of such a role. And if he is said to be born for it, he will gladly fulfill his destiny.
Yet, being scholarly and intelligent can be quite… unfulfilling. He finds it mundane at times, and despite always being focused on his studies, he never finds any joy in it.
And while he knows that casting away his attention from his required role for his own personal gain is selfish and wrong, he often feels conflicted. How can it be wrong if he finds happiness in other people’s joy…? Surely, Ena would be willing to forgive him for such a thing, if he is doing so for others’ wellbeing?

Nowadays when someone uses the word ‘yearn,’ it has become commonplace for others to immediately associate the feeling with love, the feeling of pining after that which you may never attain yet persist on wanting anyways because that’s simply the corner that your desperation has forced you into—it has turned itself into a symbol of want, need, and romance due to the innumerable amounts of media pushing the narrative of yearning’s place within the world of lovers. The movies are not to blame for this, nor are the books or shows that paint this picture of love, and neither are their consumers so readily playing into their pushed whims, for they are human. Humans want. Humans love.
Sunday is not human.

Summary
Notes were left in the scriptures from Gopher Wood's time as a mere Deacon. A time long past, yet one where he experienced love for the first and last time in his life. His alpha had a way with words, a smart well traveled man from Lushaka. Who wanted to make this planet a better place just like him. Who took the broken pieces and mended them back together.
The cow's eyes fixated on the book and the note on the page he had just flipped. It was a ripped out part of a sketchbook that showed a picture of a young Deacon full of hope and of dreams. Under the well drawn sketch the words "My Salvation" were written in a messy yet swung hand writing. Gopher Wood read those words over and over again. The warmth of the voice of his mate filling his ears, feeling like a soothing song. A sound no reading of the holy scripture could ever attain.
