Summary
The forge was warm. Blazingly, blissfully warm. Firelight flickered from the massive hearth in the corner, casting gold against copper and steel. Tables were cluttered with tools and half-sculpted pieces of wire and glass. Nothing matched. Everything gleamed. It looked like someone had tried to build the inner workings of the world and then remembered halfway through that he wasn’t a god.
And, by the time the sodden stranger made her way inside, there was a single workbench cleared off with a bottle of wine and two glasses.
Copper; a malleable, ductile, metallic element having a characteristic reddish-brown color: used in large quantities as an electrical conductor and in the manufacture of alloys, as brass and bronze.

Instead of the orcs discovering Annatar after he murders Celebrimbor, it is the Lady of Light.

Summary
The making of the Rings of Power was a monumental project stretching over many hundreds of years, and which involved an uncountable number of experiments and prototypes along the way as Celebrimbor and Annatar all but invented the craft of ring-making from whole cloth and consequently reshaped the world around them.
Not all of those prototypes were pleasant to test; but sometimes, pleasure can be found even in the darkest of shadows. And sometimes, what is truly being tested might not be the rings at all…
The Rings were theirs. It was only fitting that they be the ones to test this, together.
Celebrimbor looked up. "What must I do?" he asked.
"Resist," said Annatar.
*Story has been separated into: chapter one - ring-lore; chapter two - (light) torture; and chapter three - the bedroom; so that those who are unsure of some of the subject matter can ease into things according to their individual comfort level.

The smiths of the Gwaith-i-Mírdain are renowned across all of Middle-earth, with three of their number revered above all others: Celebrimbor of the Elves, Narvi of the Dwarves...and Annatar, who claims to be no less than an emissary of the Valar themselves. The works that these three great smiths craft together are so inspired and so inspiring that in time, it is whispered, they may even prove themselves such masters of their arts that they might outshine Fëanor himself.
But there is a darkness lurking behind the golden glitter of Eregion, a darkness that Narvi has just discovered and now seeks answers for; a darkness that may one day spread to cover all of Middle-earth if Narvi cannot see through and stand steadfast against the lies of no less than Sauron the Deceiver. A dwarf's heart is steady, a dwarf's eyes clear...
But even a dwarven heart can doubt.
