Summary
Furious at the notion that the government intends to keep him indefinitely in the Pentagon, Erik commences a hunger strike, already having accepted the only possible outcome—death.
Instead, he's broken out of prison, ending up at the Xavier Mansion with Charles as he recovers.
But Charles isn't the charming, carefree man Erik remembers. And as much as Erik tries to push Charles away, he begins to understand that maybe they aren't so different after all.
Or: DOFP prison break AU where Erik is physically unable to hide his vulnerability. It changes nothing and everything.

They eventually touch each other. When it finally happens it seems ridiculous that they waited so long. They're too weak to do anything proper, but it's more than enough, almost more than they can bear to just rub up against one and other. Stick-thin limbs entwine while mouths nip and bite, teeth finally allowed to sink into substance.
