Summary
“I have just one request before we begin,” Ayato begins, meeting Shun’s gaze.
“What is it, my lord?” They tilt their head to the side, showing that Ayato has their full attention. If he’s entirely honest, he doesn’t know if Shun would be willing to go through with this idea, but Ayato figured it wouldn’t hurt to try.
He takes a deep breath.
“I want you to fight at full strength.”
It seems to knock the wind out of Shun, because the moment they register his request they fumble with their polearm, nearly dropping it before swiftly pulling it close to their chest. They look at him, mortified.
“Forgive me if I’m crossing a line here, but are you out of your mind, my lord?” Shun frantically asks, narrowing their eyes at him in concern. “Fighting at my full strength— do you even know what you’re asking?”
Quite frankly, he does.
