Summary
The two letters arrived together at the first of the month.
One letter was white, stamped with a fleur-de-lis in the corner and addressed with fine penmanship in black ink to a Monsieur Edgar Allan Poe.
The second letter’s envelope was as red as rose petals, void of any return address, and was made out to M. Poe in smeared black ink, somehow looking a shade darker than the ink of the first letter.
A case of the most peculiar nature drags Edgar and Ranpo to Paris. Together they find themselves interwoven in a perilous mystery with a so-called ghost who haunts an opera house and a journalist who may know more than he lets on, all while they struggle with their complicated feelings towards each other.

It's a normal day in the Agency, or well, it seemed like it was. Productivity was not the first priority today and it showed. For once, Dazai is not at fault. Well, directly that is. It has something to do with him, though, and Atsushi for that matter. Who know the two were dating!
Ranpo and Yosano were about to protest while Naomi was still wailing to her brother about the unfairness of it all. She also wanted flowers from her beloved brother, so why was her ‘Juni’ refusing to grow them for her? No one said anything to that, wisely enough. That was a can of worms no one wanted to open.
“Get back to work already!” Kunikida yelled, throwing his book at Naomi. “No exceptions!”
“Heartless bastard!” a teary-eyed Naomi cried out, pouting.

“What’s got you so pissed anyway?” Dazai asks. He leans to the side to look around Ranpo, following the blazing path of Ranpo’s glare. “Aah,” he snickers once he understands.
If possible, Ranpo glares harder. His eyes must be narrowed to slits at this point. He brings his empty glass to his mouth to angrily gnaw on the edge of it, uselessly trying to blow some steam before he makes a scene at Fukuzawa’s very important function.
The man he has been keeping his eye on laughs and places a hand on the small of Poe’s back when Poe makes yet another attempt to leave.

Doppo Kunikida considered himself proficient in most things, ranging from the macrocosmic responsibilities of assisting in the functioning of one of Japan’s most efficient and pragmatically-built ability user organisations to the microcosmic dilemmas of life, ranging from what tie to wear to what event to which pizza restaurant to order from for Yosano’s birthday party. This was why, when he received a call at approximately 8:23pm on a Sunday, on his way back to his apartment that bordered the north end of Yokohama’s Chinatown, waiting patiently for the subway while holding a brown bag of this week’s groceries, Kunikida felt like a weight had been dropped on him.

Disbelief and incredulity swell. “...What?”
“I said you’re right.”
Blinking, Dazai frowns. He’s never known Ranpo to admit to an error in his life.
But then the other shoe drops, and it all makes a lot more sense: “I should repent. Let me show you how sorry I am. Give you a taste of real devotion-”
