Summary
The Texas heat is just as good at bringing things to light as a bottle of whiskey, and the thunderstorm that rolls in to save Jesse and Cass from dying of heatstroke (not like Cass could), is nothing less than a miracle. But Cass forgets his shirt outside, and he doesn't know until it's too late that running back out to get it is a grave mistake. He tries to win a race with the sun and loses, but Jesse is determined to help, even if it goes against Cass's beliefs. What that help doesn't go against, however, are the feelings Cass has had for the preacher ever since they met, and all of a sudden neither can keep their hands to themselves.

He mouths, looking at her, but she just smiles and nods, indicating that he should follow the fight. Jesse’s eyes are as big as plates, but he obeys anyway.
Right on time to see Cass dodge a strike that would have decked a bison, bend and use the guy’s momentum to flip him over like in those martial arts movies, making him land on a table and literally crashing it.
Cassidy smiles, happy like a child at Christmas.

It’s just that the whole church thing was stressing him out, with Emily breathing on his neck about the small fair they’re trying to organize for the town kids, and that damn guy was still trying to tell him about how bad his goddamn mother is every time he dares to leave his premises, he had a sermon to write for the following morning, a splitting headache and Cassidy still hadn’t fixed the AC for fuck’s sake, and now he’s interrupting him while he’s trying to think about what to say in church and fuck!
Genesis just slips into his voice when he screams.
“The fuck is wrong with you?”
