Summary
Part 5 Book 2: Aloy's team continues to assemble and get to know each other as Aloy gets closer to getting what's necessary for GAIA to capture HEPHAESTUS... and does many errands along the way.
(Expect confusing spoilers because it is a canon-divergent AU that loosely follows the original.)
Aloy helps Talanah, Dekka, Kavvoh, and Amadis in the Lowlands, and then Talanah and Kavvoh meet her and Ivvira back in the Desert. After her friends, old and new, help her avert some conflict, Aloy runs off to the Isle of Spires.
Alva and Beta become friends and get help from Kotallo and Varl to make the Base more comfortable, while Zo continues her project to heal the Land-Gods, and Erend is back in the Daunt on Vanguard business and Sons of Prometheus detective work.
Varl and Kotallo talk about children but are interrupted when Kotallo gets a chance to ask Aloy to take him to a dangerous area to help him heal. Still at the Base, Varl talks to Zo, and she learns more about what makes Kotallo fight so hard.
And then Varl gets some ideas of how to bring the joy he's been feeling to the rest of the team.
