Spring, 1772
Lizzie Wemyss sits anxiously outside Claire Fraser’s surgery, reflecting on her past mistakes and the emotional turmoil that often overtakes her. She recently had a violent altercation with Inga McGillivray, a gossiping, know-it-all young woman on Fraser’s Ridge, and is now awaiting judgment. COMPLETED! I briefly had a ninth chapter up, but decided chapter 8 was a more organic ending for this work, and will explore my ideas about Ian and Rachel another time and in another fic!
Taking place in the time frame of the final chapters of “Go Tell The Bees That I Am Gone,” I present to you a series of erotic vignettes, loosely interconnected, and featuring a variety of characters. As Jamie is recovering from his injuries, and while the Ridge and its residents are experiencing a few months of relative peace and tranquility, everyday life for the Frasers, the Mackenzies, the Beardsley throuple, and various other characters, continues as fall turns to winter.
The main throughlines that tie it all together are Jamie’s slow return to the world of the living, and the resuming of his place as the Fraser of The Ridge after King’s Mountain in a body not quite what it once was; and Fanny Pocock, his and Claire’s foster daughter, learning life lessons and finding her faith through the good examples of honor, love, and commitment she sees around her.
