- - - - - - - - - - - -Spiralling crystalline galaxies littered the sky as Everett walked along the beach, but not amongst its inhabitants. He felt the sand beneath his talons but did not truly touch it. He felt the wind through his feathers but did not, could not recognise the alien way in which its touch did not linger and seemed to glaze over the surface, flowing as water does within a river around rocks and pebbles, and all sorts.
