Summary
There are stories of brave, strong heroes who are born to change those around them.
This is no such story.
Sometimes, you're just any other herbivore. Unassuming, ordinary.
Sometimes, you make the choice. Even if you weren't born to do so.
Come closer. Nestle deep. Travel to two mountains. They are alive - to those who live among them, anyway. Well, most of them.
One is dark and gaunt, inhabited by creatures who strike fear into the islanders who live below. The Sanlagitans call it Mount Kahna.
The other is bathed in light, containing all of life's good fortunes. The Sanlagitans call this Isa. It's somewhere in the vast expanse, beyond the fog. Not that you've seen it. Nobody has. Or maybe they have, but nobody's lived to tell the tale.
But they're just stories, of course. They're mountains. What harm has a mountain ever done to anybody?
OR
Haru doesn't trust the stories, and meets Legosi as a result. But something disastrous occurs, forcing her to trust in them, just this once.
