Summary
Inside, the shelter buzzed softly with the sound of purring and rustling litter. Dazai caught movement out of the corner of his eye—a tall figure crouched beside a sleek black cat.
The man’s shoulder-length black hair obscured most of his face, but Dazai didn’t need to see. He already knew who it was.
Fyodor.
Their eyes met across the room, and Dazai froze. Shit.
Or, Dazai and Chuuya get assigned a joint mission to investigate suspicious activity at a cat shelter… only to find Fyodor there.

Eye-patch came off. Scarcely ever did, and each time Fyodor was oddly charmed by Nikolai’s mismatched eyes. Whether one, or perhaps both, were contact lenses or heterochromia was natural, that he couldn't know – seldom is the line dividing truth from lies set in stone, very much like the one separating sanity from utter madness – living and breathing example of the fallacy was right in front of his eyes.
Nikolai rested chin on a palm and leaned forwards. “Tell me Dos-kun, what do you think is the worse”, he murmured in equally sentimental and derisive tone, as if vacillating between scorn and affections. Despite the sorrowful smile there was something in Nikolai’s expression that alarmed.
“To clip bird’s wings or to take its voice away?”
In which Nikolai, driven to brink of madness by love, saves Fyodor from death and helps him recover. Except now that he finally has Fyodor within arm’s reach he won’t be so willing to let go.

Lungs betrayed by forcing a cough. Nikolai clasped mouth to hold the petals in but couldn't do a thing about oppressive scent of flowers, proving Fyodor’s taunt. “Tell me Dos-kun, do you, at very least, find my downfall amusing?”
“You humans are foolishly stupid but I can’t lie your asininity isn’t entertaining”, Fyodor laughed warmly but smile didn’t reach the eyes, just like fingers caressing cheek they remained cold. “You paint a beautiful tragedy”

Summary
Fyodor plays the cello in the orchestra pit for The Phantom of the Opera. This wouldn't have changed anything if the leading actor wasn't such an interesting and charming man. Nikolai loves playing the Phantom, but it gets way more fun when an attractive cellist starts talking to him.

Without a warming Fyodor hooked their arms and nestled closer. Lowering cheek on Nikolai’s shoulder he purred – “Let’s just say I found someone more deserving my attention”
Heart thumped within rib-cage, declared how trapped he is. Of no account. He was given attention and praise and damn is he going to gulp it all down. Glowing up Nikolai returned the embrace. “Fedya dear, I’m -”
“Dazai-kun is certainly impressive, but he’s yet to excel my expectations”, Fyodor interrupted offhandedly, blind to the despair he’s causing; in actuality every word was measured so it stings the most.
Dazai. First time he hears of this man and Nikolai already disliked him – not because he had anything against him, but because Fyodor clearly wanted him to. What he disliked even more than Fyodor’s interest being captured by another is how easily heart was manipulated.
They finally got together. Nikolai naively assumed hardest battles are behind. Unfortunately compassion and fidelity have never been on Fyodor’s mind.

Ultimately Fukuchi forgo violence. Not out of consideration, snake didn’t deserve iota, but for very self. He was tired of violence. Fyodor, be it willingly or not, enkindled something truly hideous in him. When beside him Fukuchi transformed into what he ought to have left on a battlefield, behind piles of corpses and blood stained white flag. Safe to say he despised Fyodor – despised everything that snake wearing human skin reflected back at him.
Perhaps that's what drew them together. Mask answers to a mask, monster easily picks out one of own kind in a masquerade.
Little background on Decay of Angels’s creation. Desperation pushed Fukuchi into dealing with the Devil.

Fyodor, captured by the Port Mafia on Ace's orders, is offered a chance to join forces with Ace to overthrow Mori. Instead, Fyodor proposes a deadly contest: if he wins, he regains his freedom; if he loses, he will wear a collar as a symbol of compliance. The game is simple—each player guesses whether the next card will be higher or lower than the previous one. As they play, their conversation shifts to a philosophical debate on faith, with Fyodor calmly reciting verses from Psalm 73 while Ace arrogantly claims to be a god. As the game reaches its climax, Ace mocks Fyodor, certain of his victory, but when Fyodor wins, the tables turn. In a final, desperate attempt to escape, Ace tries to end his life, but Fyodor stops him, quoting the Psalm once more before taking Ace's life, leaving him dead on the floor.
