The Winchester brothers dream of making their escape one day, starting over somewhere where they never have to fear the Hunger Games again. But when Sam nearly gets voted as District 9’s male tribute for the country's first ever Quarter Quell, Dean volunteers in his place.
Seventeen-year-old Castiel Novak is the favourite to win the twenty-fifth Hunger Games, expected to come out a victor like his brother before him. While reluctant, he goes in believing he’ll easily emerge as this year’s winner. What he can’t predict is the alliance he’ll make with a tribute with a knack for rebelling and a need to break free of the cage that contains them both. Or how this new partnership will change him.
This is a revision of my work of the same name that I wrote from 2014-2018, heavily edited and fully complete.

Two years have passed since Adam was resurrected by Jack. Michael escaping the Empty is a wistful dream.
After a strange encounter with a black unicorn, Adam returns home to Michael waiting for him. His joy is short-lived when Michael informs Adam that the human's life is in danger. The black unicorn transferred a valuable secret into Adam’s mind. The enemy called “The Dark” will kill Adam to gain that secret.
Adam must hide out in the past as the enemy can not time travel. Feeling very unwell, Michael stays behind in the present. But Michael promises to meet Adam in the past when he's ready.
While in 14th century England possessing his male ancestor, Adam helps the man locate his daughter.
Eventually, Michael arrives in the past to assist Adam. Complications arise when Adam's existence is threatened after another child goes missing.

Summary
After finally escaping The Cage together with Michael, dying again, and then being brought back by Jack with the rest of humanity, Adam should have been able to finally be happy. He should have woken up with his angel inside his head, but reality was not that kind.
He just can't accept that Michael is gone. With little choice but to live with Sam and Dean now that everything and everyone he loved has been ripped out of his hands, Adam devises a plan to get Michael out of the Empty so they can be together again.
Of course, nothing is ever that easy with the Winchesters around, and things don't quite go according to plan.

Summary
Three magical assholes snatched Sam from his bed, hours after the kid’s first heat. And as skilled as a Night Hunter that alpha Dean is, he wasn't able to stop them.
But every time Dean thinks he's finally caught up to them he gets sidetracked because some civilian, coincidentally, needs saving from some monster.
Even with the setbacks Dean will never stop following their trail, not until he finally rescues Sam. He'll keep searching even if he has to follow him across the continent, even if it takes months or years.
Excellent. This is all according to Heaven's plan.
Heaven needs vessels for Michael & Lucifer. But the archangels can't inhabit a Winchester body until Dean breaks over 200 seals. Not leaving anything up to fate Heaven deputizes seraph Castiel in his omega vessel to act as the unseen hand to guide the alpha to break as many seals as possible.
But, the angel is unable to stay unseen & more problems arise when Castiel's omega & Dean's alpha form a bond.
Now Castiel, the once dutiful soldier of Heaven famous for always doing as he is told, wonders if he'll be able to fulfill Heaven's bidding.
