Summary
500 years ago, the wild fox Tomoe was sent by the gods to undergo a mortal trial to regain his freedom and yokai status. However, his trial didn't go as planned, causing his soul to disintegrate.
In the present, Momozono Nanami grew up hearing the folk tale of Tomoe and his failed trial. In an unexpected turn of events, she accidentally travels back in time and falls in love with Tomoe in his mortal form, unaware of his true identity.
