Summary
Laudna is a children's librarian who loves doing story time, but unfortunately the kids find her more scary-scary than fun-scary. So it's very rare for her to be able to do that.
Imogen runs an outdoor school where schools in Jrusar send grades of children to learn about nature and get some learning done outside of a traditional classroom. Finding someone to lead a story time with the kids has been a bit difficult, so Imogen reaches out to the local public library.
This is a modern AU, so they don't have magic per se. This is generally going to be from Laudna's perspective, with a lil Imogen sprinkled in for flavour. I'll add more tags and characters as they become relevant.

After the twins ran away from their father's home in Syngorn, they were determined to build their own lives, on their own. And their best chance, was in Emon. It was big, wealthy diverse... And over time, their efforts bore fruit. They got a small apartment. Vex'ahlia got a scholarship to the Lyceum. And Vax'ildan was ready to do ANYTHING it took to make it work. Bartending at the exclusive sex club, Lascivious, was a good gig, but expenses were piling up.
He started a second job, as a Tal'DoreiDasher.
And that's how he started making frequent drop off deliveries to the mysterious house on edge of the Cloudtop... Over the next year and half, he constantly delivered there... And it was frequently the same things: food, first aid supplies, fish tank supplies... and deformed, pet store reject fish... what the actual fuck?
Eventually, Vax began to think... With as frequently as he delivered meals and groceries, this mystery person never had to leave, so... did they? And seriously: who got hurt that much?! And how? And again… what the FUCK was up with all the janky fish?!
And Vax started to think... What if he didn’t leave the delivery, ring the bell, and leave?
What if… he waited?

Summary
What if Imogen and Laudna never left Gelvaan? What if the Bells Hells were just a bunch of small town weirdos that make a life worth living out of a little town in the Taloned Highlands?
Gelvaan wasn’t known for much, other than getting torched to the ground nearly twenty years ago, but talking ‘bout that’s a good way to make the doc go green in the face, so everyone typically tries to keep their mouths shut about it.
Doesn’t mean the older folk don’t think about it, though. Anything from cutting thoughts towards the old Court soldier that runs the general store and the tavern, to praising themselves for pullin’ the community together and rebuilding – even if most of ‘em just sat on their asses and bitched about the work and the crops razed to the ground in a pointless war.
But thoughts are just thoughts, as most would agree.
Unfortunately, Imogen Temult is far from most – and the people of Gelvaan don't have to say it out loud for her to know they think she’s a freak.

But it's not just Syldor being unpleasant... Syldor is treating him... oddly... Like there's something... wrong with him.
Percy doesn't realize until it is far too late, that something is very, VERY wrong...

After being made to live with their father in Syngorn, the twins realized that cameras, the press, public attention was suddenly a thing. And for half-elves in Syngorn, it was to be avoided. And yet, Vax found a way to put a camera on himself, anonymously, and reach out beyond Syngorn. His reckless hobby ends up landing him in the middle of a high fashion photo shoot years later, that somehow lands him a modeling gig, that somehow ends up with him as one of the top models in Tal'Dorei, and all all of Exandria.
It leads him to meet Percival de Rolo, the presumed-dead heir to Whitestone Enterprises & the de Rolo family fortune, and help him reclaim everything. And once it is done, Vax and Percy prepare to attend the Alabaster Lyceum Gala. Together. It will be their first public appearance as a couple. They're excited. But Vax is dreading one thing... he has this... fan. Who writes him letters... 'H' will not be pleased...
