"Only the pretty ones," Vash counters with a shrug, unsure of what possesses him to say it. His ears get hot immediately afterward.
Wolfwood merely grins a sharp-toothed smile as they keep walking. "This could be the part where I shoot you in the back of the head and steal all your money."
Vash and Wolfwood decide to get to know one another better following their first meeting and the incident with the grand worm. Things get interesting and immediately become too much.

Vash isn't particularly good at communicating his needs and Wolfwood never knows what to expect from Vash the Stampede - least of all when he's glassy eyed and whining all damn day.

“Huh,” Wolfwood starts—sets his task aside to stare at the Humanoid Typhoon in wonder where he is wilted over Wolfwood's lap. The knot of his insides tighten under that ethereal gaze, pinning him in place. “You really don’t feel well, huh?”

Elegant fingers brushed through his hair, barely caressing his scalp; they caught onto something and gently withdrew. Nicholas followed the movement and found a red ribbon between his fingers.
“You had it on the whole time,” Vash explained, playing with it, “One of the kids must have put it on you while you were having a snooze.”
His face lifted and brightened with a pulse of light.
“You were really cute.”Nicholas and Vash's relationship is made of silences and words unspoken; this is an immovable truth that persists in every universe. However, fate proves powerless in the face of their bond: it might have torn them, it might have crushed their love in so many different worlds and universes, but it can't do anything in the face of Vash's determination. And one Vash has had enough - he tries to avert this fate.

Vash, of course, cannot simply tell him that he can’t stop thinking about the delicious way Wolfwood’s back muscles stretched when he shed his clothes. Vash, of course, cannot simply him that he is using every ounce of his willpower to not let his gaze fixate on the tuft of dark hair just above his pants line, so very present as they lounge about the room and ready for bed. He cannot simply tell him about his mounting intergalactic carnal craving to be dicked down by a man of God and that most of his mental capacity is currently occupied with trying to gaslight himself into thinking his need isn’t all that bad.
Vash's plant brain wants Wolfwood to help him out during his Spring Awakening (read: plant heat). Vash's human brain is convinced Wolfwood would reject him. Wolfwood, naturally, decides to further complicate things for Vash when he (unknowingly) refuses to sleep in a different room.
