Summary
Shepard and his team successfully destroy the collector base. However, because the collectors were playing around with interdimensional travel, the Normandy accidentally falls into a wormhole that opens in the system that they emerge from. They emerge in a galaxy so similar, yet so different. Similar in that it is the Milky Way Galaxy and there is an intergalactic threat. Different as there is no such thing as mass effect, mass relays don't exist, the citadel doesn't exist, oh and Humanity is leading an alliance against a race of pure energy and psionic beings that threaten the multi-universe. The Normandy is forced to engage in this last battle before interacting with the Humans of this galaxy to get back home.
OrThe Normandy crew gets stuck in another galaxy, they meet a bunch of AIs, Humans, and aliens, they bring some friends home, and the Unbidden ally with the Reapers.
