(Just wanna preface that the strings are in no way romantic or related to soulmate AU, they just represent characters that are parallels.)
After Lumine, Paimon, and Kazuha get pulled into another world via Rifthound Taxi Services, they find out it's actually a modern world of Quirks: a superhuman society where the supernatural is the norm. Strings of green thread connect Lumine and Kazuha to two other boys - a shy green-haired one and a stoic red-and-white-haired one respectively.
Over in U.A. dorms, Bakugou is awoken by a cute, happy-go-lucky blonde girl that he nearly blows up. It turns out she's been trying to get out of the room but can't because of a taut red string that connects their wrists together - and also the doorknob is too high. When he lets her out, he finds his other male classmates clustered around Tokoyami's door, against which stands a shaken-looking Tokoyami with a violet string around his wrist. Enter Fischl, Prinzessin der Verteilung.
Stuck together, they all must find a way to get the outlanders back to Teyvat while keeping them a secret and continuing their hero duties.

But as sucrose searches for her paridisial garden and albedo inquires about the quantification of human life, in each other, they find qualities the other wishes they could pursue. A tale of two hearts coming together, confiding each other, yet yearning to have more.
