The man twisted towards them—just enough to meet their eyes. All of the air in her lungs instantly evaporated, leaving her gasping. Simultaneously, a knife stabbed directly into her heart, ever-so-slowly being dragged to her stomach, leaving hellfire in its wake.

As they're securing the ancient statue in the ship, Percy falls over the edge of the collapsing cavern, and while trying to save him, Nico and Jason go over the edge with him. Together, the children of the Big Three fall into Tartarus, and Wisdom's daughter must lead the rest of the crew of the Argo II to the House of Hades in order to save them and defeat Gaia once and for all.

Between meddling parents, (who can't deal with their kids growing up and forbid them from dating), nosy friends (mortals can be surprisingly perceptive) and the occasional monster attack, finding a moment alone is harder than fighting off giants. As they yearn for the simple mortal lives, Percy and Annabeth need to discover who they are outside of Camp. Will they find a way to heal together, stand up to their parents and embrace the little joys that life offers? Perhaps nothing bad will happen?
