“Can you take me to the Library?” Five asked bluntly after a momentary pause, he raised one eyebrow expectantly.
If it were anyone else, Luther probably would have told them to go to Diego or Viktor or someone else who could drive legally. He was cleaning his room, something he had been putting off for the past few days and was just now getting started on. And if he were being honest, he hadn’t been prepared to leave the academy today, and so found himself inappropriately dressed for going out in public.
But it was Five in front of him right now.

“Yeah, I did. I heard a fifty-eight-year-old man who still wants his daddy to come fix everything. Well, you can count me out,” and Luther turns towards the stairs to leave. His family breaks into another bout of arguments.
Five stares at his back, his mind stumbling over his brother’s words, uncomprehending. He’s held his heart out in his hands for them to see, and all they’ve done is step on it, dismissing him, like his efforts are for nothing.
He can’t help the laughter that spills out of his mouth.
It has been for nothing. Stop the apocalypse, save the world, keep his family alive—those are his goals, but what has he accomplished? Nothing! He’s stood in the wreckage of his hubris at thirteen, burying the only people in the world who mattered, and he’s about to do it again, in the same body as the first time no less.
Isn’t that ironic? Isn’t that hilarious?
Five laughs harder. He laughs so hard it hurts.
In which Five has a well-deserved breakdown, then gets a hug.

A bit of a season 3 rewrite where Allison takes her anger out early on Five instead of Viktor. A number of issues subsequently come back to Five, and his sister choking him happens to be the perfect trigger for one of them. Surely isolating himself in an unfamiliar hotel is the solution.
Alternate title: Five Hargreeves and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day
Not Allison-friendly. Kind of the opposite of my last fic with Five and Allison, in fact.

This is an AU mashup of The Haunting of Hill House (elements taken from both the book and the show) and The Umbrella Academy.
Sometime in the 90s, seven children were in foster care, seven children all born on the same day but in no other way associated with one another. They had never met before, but it was their birthday that ultimately drew them all together for a four-year reign of terror. When they were twelve, they were collected from across the country by the eccentric and reclusive billionaire, Sir Reginald Hargreeves, an elderly gentleman with a mysterious history and a sprawling mansion. Doctor Grace Hargreeves and Doctor C. Pogo resided there with them, acting as assistants and confidants to Sir Reginald.
What went on there left the children traumatized, but when they all receive a letter out of the blue, telling them that Sir Reginald has died, they have the chance to go back and get some recompense, and maybe some answers as well.

The voice sounds behind them suddenly, and all of them startle and whip around in synchronization.
“Klaus,” Luther hears himself say distantly. “You’re…here.”
Four tilts his head, bringing his hand to his lips and inhaling deeply around the cigarette dangling between his fingers. When he exhales, the smoke curls around his head like a halo before drifting into the air.
“Yeah, well, I would’ve gotten here sooner,” Four says around the cigarette. “But I just really didn’t want to.”

Number Four shows up to the funeral three hours late with an iced latte in one hand and a cigarette dangling from the other.
Or; Klaus fled the Academy the day they turned eighteen. He never looked back.
Ten years later, their father dies.
Number Four returns.And none of them quite know what to do with this new version of their black sheep brother.
AKA: Klaus single-handedly stops the apocalypse. It really wasn't that hard, so if everyone could stop looking at him like that, that would be great, thanks.
