You are seated in a room that is empty. A chain digs into your wrist, binding one arm to the wall. It is quiet, and you are alone. This is what you deserve. This is what you deserve. This is what you deserve.
During her many lives, the Princess heard these cruel words from the Echo’s Construct too many times to count. But was this truly what she deserved? Was this all she was ever supposed to be?
Perhaps now that the Construct was broken and the Echo himself was gone, it was her chance to finally be herself, whoever that was.

Aka- a strange fic compared to my others that is just me playing with the creation of the construct and a damsel route from the POV of the princess/shifting mound. It’s very experimental and abstract. Incredibly different to what I’m used to but I had a lot of fun with it.

Maybe the little things, the soft moments, something as gentle as sitting on a rotten bench so far away, with her only friend, sharing some drink she didn’t know the name of but quite liked, staring at the pretty scene of explosions of colours and light, loud but not threatening – maybe that was what made it worth it. Maybe the world could be kind.
OR
A self-indulgent short and sweet one-shot. The player found a way to break the cycle and decided to take the Nightmare with him despite everything. They grow closer. And watch the fireworks together.
