In the back of the cave, there were the remnants of a time lived long ago. Little drawings on the wall in chalk that had somehow survived the tests of time for the last few years. Three stick figures holding hands was the easiest to see and he smiled softly as he looked at the drawing.
For a moment he caught the smell of brown sugar and chocolate but it disappeared as fast as it came - a phantom scent straight out of his memories. He sat down on the cold ground and sobbed into his hands, suddenly overwhelmed. Memories came flooding in and he couldn’t help getting lost in them.
