He stands a couple of feet behind Viktor, shoulders bumping the commuters who flank both his sides. Viktor knows this because he’s had his eyes glued to his reflection in the window since he settled into the spot. This is the best way to watch him. People tend to notice when they have someone staring at them face-on, but with his back turned, Viktor can indulge with very little chance of detection.
He’s called Jayce. Jayce Talis. Viktor knows this because once, when he’d been brave enough to take a rare empty seat beside him, he’d stolen a glance at the lanyard slung around his neck.
Viktor has developed a ritual for his commute home. One involving the stranger he’s become infatuated with, a good view, and a hand down his pants. It works perfectly until he gets caught.
