''You didn't..'' Didn't what? Didn't just say that? No, Eddie couldn't ask that because he knows too well that Buck had said it. ''Repeat that, what did you just say, Buck?''
Waiting for a response, Eddie swallows. He wants to weep, to cry until there's nothing left. His eyes burn, but he has nothing else to give.
He's broken from his spiraling thoughts finding that Buck still hasn't responded.
''No,'' Eddie bleats. ''No, you can't - you cannot say something like that, Buck, don't..''
''It should've been me. It always should've been me instead of Bobby,'' Buck insists, eyes squeezed shut. Willing the fresh gleam of tears to not cascade down the blonde's cheeks. ''And I'd reverse our roles instantly, I'd be the one in that coffin if it wasn't already nailed shut,''

He used to love to talk with his family, fight with his older brother, and make fun of his older sister. He loved his siblings; they were the world to him when he was younger.
His family wasn’t rich, they didn’t have a lot of money, but that didn’t mean that they weren’t happy. They were actually really happy people. Despite all the stress of working multiple jobs to support their kids, the Buckley parents did their best to keep their kids loved.
They made sure that their kids knew it. They did, in fact, know it.
That’s why it was so difficult when they passed away. The loss overwhelmed young Evan Buckley.

Even when most people could say that Evan "Buck" Buckley won and could finally get back to work at the 118...it all tasted to bittersweet.
Turns out that maybe he lost exactly the things he was figthing for and aparently it didn´t matter how much he tried to apologize...nobody was willing to listen and day after day with every glare, harsh word trown his way and the absolute silence from the people he once considered his family, to not even mention how things were between Eddie and him-it all became to much for his heart and mind to handle-hence Buck´s breaking point.
Now the universe was actually pissed off things may need to take a turn for better or for worse depending on who you ask. Cause for anyone to learn the right lesson...things need to happend.Or...
Buck gives up and decides that enough is enough and because the universe actually listens (and it feels like Buck deserves a break) it is time for everyone else to learn a lesson or two by any means necessary, even if near death experiences, people actually using their words, amnesia, ghost from the past (metaphorical and literal) are needed.
Cause sometimes love needs help to make everything better. -

Evan got out of the car, breathing in the scent of water and wet humus. A barrier stood at the edge of a cliff, the lake at its foot. The urge to put himself in danger, to do something stupid and reckless gut-wrenched him as soon as he saw the opportunity. He climbed onto the fence, tiptoeing the edge.
The boy wobbled, his heart skipping a beat. Wild with emotion, his arms flailed in the air to stabilize him as a peak of adrenaline rushed through his veins. That felt so good. Focusing his mind on the not-so-easy task of keeping his balance, he let a wide grin show on his lips for the first time in days.
”Evan!” Margaret shrieked, and the surprise made him fall over, on the good side of the cliff, though. The boy tumbled at his mother’s feet as she pressed at his side.
