The silence wouldn’t last long she knew, not on the bridge they were standing on, and certainly not in the Lanes. Still, Vi was grateful for the silence, no one needed to be witness to the two of them limping their way across the river, no one had a right to see the heartbreak on their faces.

The remaining few are left to navigate complex politics, relationships, and planning a pittance of vacation days. Gods, but they should've went to Amn.
