This is the first fan-fiction I have written in a long time. Feedback is welcome and appreciated!
Pomni and Jax cope in their own ways with the aftermath of their episode six argument. It seems possible that they may avoid each other forever, until strange things start to happen around the circus. How will they deal with the uncertainty of their future?
Characters belong to the amazing Gooseworx--thank you for making fun little guys for us to play with.

Summary
Dandelion, above all else, was a lover. He fell in love with humans every day and left them behind just as quickly so that they could not learn his secret. This is what his had mother always fretted about – Dandelion’s desire for love conflicting with the mortality of mankind. It was difficult, of course, but Dandelion had resigned himself to short lived nights of passion, for he would never risk his newfound freedom away from Court for a single human.
That was, until he met Geralt.
Always dancing on the edge of a knife, what happens when Prince Jaskier prepares himself for the fall? Will he survive? Or will losing Geralt destroy everything Jaskier has tried to build?

Jax has fought to push everyone away for almost as long as he's been in the Circus. Pomni is the first one to not only fight back, but attempt to truly understand him.
As they let each other in, they find not just a once in a lifetime kind of trust, but that two damaged people like them might just have what it takes to not only unravel the Circus's secrets, but to one way or another, change their lives — and the lives of the others — forever.

That hollow pit that she'd been so desperate to wash away - that had started to subside - now comes back much deeper And more frantic than she had felt it earlier. And now she’s wide awake.
A sliver of moonlight reflects off the barrel of the revolver.

The Leshy had been the final fucking straw.
For decades, Eskel had found himself increasingly sick of walking the Path and living the life of monsters and money.
He had spent most of his life being hated for something he had no choice in: becoming a mutant.
It was thankless work, people didn’t want to pay even when he’d bested their monster, and everyone was afraid of him.
But winter came yet again as Eskel made his way up to Kaer Morhen, badly injured by a fucking Leshy, of all things,
And by the time Eskel was deemed free of the Leshy and able to rest, everyone else in the Keep was wrapped around the fingers of Geralt’s daughter, Ciri.
So when the pass was clear enough for travel in the spring, Eskel had made up his mind: he was done with doing what was expected of him.
Eskel wanted to retire.
In years bygone, Eskel had spent some time in Oxenfurt, sitting in on whatever classes at the University that allowed mutants, and he’d thoroughly enjoyed that pursuit of knowledge, though he could never afford the tuition to attend as a student.
And that is how Eskel found himself sneaking silently into a lecture on music theory given by “Professor Julian Alfred Pankratz”. -

The funny part was that Lambert almost didn’t even go back to Kaer Morhen that winter. Maybe it wouldn’t have made a difference in the long run. Maybe the four of them—him and Eskel and Geralt and that damn little songbird—were Destiny with a capital D (heh), and would have ended up in the same place eventually no matter what.
Or maybe Destiny was for chumps.
Lambert made the choice to go home. He made the choice to bring Geralt’s bard with him. And everything that came after that was a choice, too, even the love.
Maybe especially the love.
Ok, so funny wasn’t the right word. Whatever. Lambert wasn’t a big words guy.
It was just that when he rode into sight of the base of The Killer that year and his stomach curdled with something a little bit like homesickness and a lotta bit like dread, and instead of turning around he chose to go to the village that squatted at its base and stock up for the climb—
Well, that turned out to be an incredibly meaningful fucking choice. That’s all he was saying.
