He was used to running on very little sleep, not by choice but because his body was stupid (and maybe a bit because of Dad’s snoring), but Donnie had to sleep. Leo had seen him sleep deprived, and it hadn’t been annoying as much as it had been… sad. He’d pitied Donnie, then, and the way everything seemed to be too loud and too bright for him, the way he felt ugly noises in his teeth and his reflexes were basically non existent. Mikey had thrown a balled up sheet of paper at him once, on one of those days, and Donnie had taken a whole second after it’d bounced off his head and fallen to the ground to start screaming at him, and hadn’t had the energy to care about the tears that had followed.
Maybe Leo hadn’t considered all that when plotting his little trick.
