Summary
Xie Lian has continued moving forward in his life. He once more finds himself in scrap collecting and the occasional busking. Finding a good city to do both was fortunate for him. Cities tend to have more poverty and more children living on the street. He isn’t impervious to their struggles and did what he could out of sympathy. Xie Lian never thought a little kindness would leave him with a constant shadow that was much harder than he looked to get rid of.

Summary
Traveling with a child came with many more responsibilities then Xie Lian had imagined. Teaching the boy things as agreed was a separate matter to having a child accompanying him. One that was ultimately left in Xie Lian’s care. He had little to no experience with children, let alone ever being left to deal with their needs. Yizhen was not a spoiled child nor did he ask for much, but Xie Lian had a lot to learn about living with the boy.
